Girls Soccer loses in OT to end a phenomenal seasonThursday, November 12, 2015 Congratulations to all members of the Girls Soccer team for a great season! Wilton 3, Newington 2 (2 OT): For only the third time this season, the Newington girls soccer team did not walk off the field with a ‘W’. It was a tough defeat for the No. 2 seeded Indians in the second round of the Class LL tournament to Wilton, the No. 15 seed in the bracket that took not one, but two overtimes to play. Newington was able to take the lead in regulation and in the first overtime, but was unable to hold its goal advantage both times with Kaila Lozada hitting the back of the net twice for the Indians. The Indians was coming off a first round bye and seemed to be well rested going into the game, but in the end one goal made the difference ending the team’s tournament runs and hopes this season. Newington finished the season with a 17-3 record. Courtesy of the NB Herald
